Expansions to two existing YMCA facilities were proposed and each included plans for spraygrounds. WET engineers assisted the managers of both branches with development of the conceptual design and construction documents. The Deland facility was sized at 700 square feet and was comprised of several in-ground and above-grade spray features, including a ‘swaying palm tree’. The Deltona sprayground was slightly smaller at 600 square feet and included different features from the same manufacturer. WET met with the managers to finalize the conceptual designs and guided the projects through permitting with the Volusia County Department of Health. The Deland sprayground opened in 2010 and Four Townes in 2011.
