COOL ZOO is a large spray deck at the Audubon Nature Institute Zoo in New Orleans. Features include many deck mounted water toy elements and a small, heavily themed play structure with dumping bucket. In coordination with the architect, treatment equipment was designed to occupy two buildings built during the Works Progress Administration. These buildings are historic and the exterior was restored to original condition. Equipment included high rate sand filtration and medium pressure ultraviolet disinfection.
